Communicate and Recognize Everyday!

Provide a clear understanding of what your expectations are - let your associates know what "success" is on the job.
Build a team and strive for involvement and partnership from all associates.
Hold meetings regularly - share information that's important to the associate's jobs.
Seek out your associates' ideas, opinions and thoughts - and use them - let them know that you care what they think.
Give honest feedback - but never belittle associates or threaten their self-esteem.
Be a coach and a cheerleader, not a scorekeeper...praise and reward all good efforts.
Say "thank you" at every opportunity - and do it sincerely.
Listen carefully and completely - seek out the real meaning in the message.
Strive for consistency and a "no surprises" environment.
Don't shoot the messenger who brings bad news...encourage open communication in all aspects.
